The Ottumwa Area Arts Council is a nonprofit organization which has served Wapello County since 1974. The purpose of the council is to enhance an appreciation of the arts and humanities in the greater Ottumwa area. The council strives to serve all people in the Ottumwa area from youth through senior citizens, from all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. The board includes members from communities in Wapello County.​
